The purpose of this exercise is to reframe the way you view and think about the so called ‘difficult’ people we encounter as we wander along in life. To make you feel quite differently about them and the impact they can have.
Its probably easy for you to picture someone you know even from these few words who acts in ways that upset you or baffles you and this exercise will help you train your mind to expand your understanding of them.
This is something you can practise as often as you like whenever you like and in relation to as many people as you want, in fact the more you do so, the more of a natural habit of calm you will create with yourself each time you are around such people who make you feel awkward or take you through the negative emotions spectrum.
The more you practise, the more you will understand someone else perspective, no matter how different from yours. In addition you will learn more about what drives you and additionally discover your values and beliefs deep down as you examine yourself. These new understandings will help you find more creative ways to handle people and also be more effective in general.
As always there is no right or wrong way to do this just try and see what happens, then try and try and enjoy. Its a serious issue and it’s a useful one but it’s also fun to learn about ourselves in a calm relaxing manner.
